The world's greatest seafood wine: Albariño
Monday 1st August is Albariño Day!
For any seafood lover out there – and naturally Orkney has a lot of seafood lovers – that name may well sound familiar. Albariño is the world’s greatest seafood wine, loved in its native Galicia in northwest Spain, and increasingly well known around the world. It’s always on our shelves, and we supply excellent versions to @The Storehouse and @The Lynnfield.
So we’re delighted to celebrate Albariño Day tomorrow: the bunting’s up! Pop in any time for a taste of one or two of our current favourites. But we’re not going to stop there: we’re going to make this Albariño Week!
10% off any purchase of Albariño, including pre-orders.
Special extended range: six glorious versions to choose from.
Free canvas tote bag for the first 20 Albariño customers.
Free Albariño-themed corkscrews for the next 10 customers.
New Albariño-matching recipe released on social media every day this week. Specially devised to marry Orcadian ingredients with Galician recipes.
·Look out for a seafood feast (plus matching Albariño) in this week’s ‘Diary of a Shopkeeper’: in The Orcadian on Wednesday and on our blog on Saturday.
A little bird (name of Malcolm) tells us that The Lynnfield Hotel is offering a special deal on their wine list Albariño this week: an ideal partner for their seafood platters, scallops and much else.
¡Salud!
